    How can I find an article on a particular topic?

    Click on Diversity Store. Once there, click on the link, Search Culture Diversity at Work Article Archive. The search page comes up. You can search by key words or author's last name. Enter your search terms in the text box, then choose how broad or narrow you want to search.

    • Match any word is the broadest search as the database search all the articles for any of your words.
    • Match all words is a narrower search.
    • Match exact phrase is the narrowest search.

    You have to be creative with databases; if your search terms don't turn up anything, try other related words, also try words in both their singular and plural forms. Sometimes Match all words will give you better results than Match exact phrase. You have to experiment. Once you submit your search terms, a list of articles will be presented and you can read the first paragraph of the article. To buy it, simply click on Purchase, and Add to Cart. You will be able to download it at the end of your ordering process.

    When will I receive my order?

    After you submit your order, the Order Confirmation and Download page will appear. All the items you have ordered will appear on this page. The title of each downloadable item is a link. Click on the first title to begin to download the PDF file. Repeat this process for each downloadable title. If any of the items you ordered are only available in hard copy, we will ship the items as specified (most within 2 to 3 days). Note: You will need Adobe Acrobat to download and view the PDF files.     Why does the download PDF file open in a new window?

    When you click on the title to download an item, it will open up a new window in your browser. This second window allows you to view the article or product you purchased, without eliminating your Order Confirmation and Download page. This format makes it easy for you to return to your Order Confirmation page so that you can continue to download your items. To store the PDF to your hard drive, you need to click on the PDF windows and go to File then Save a Copy. Select a location and click on OK or SAVE.

    Where do I put the download files on my computer?

    It is recommended that you right-click (PC) or hold down the mouse button (Mac) on the download link and choose "Save Target As" for Internet Explorer or "Save Link As" for Netscape. You'll get a dialog box prompting you to choose a folder on your hard drive where you would like the file saved. After you choose this directory, press OK, and the file will be transferred to your hard drive. Note: The PDF file won't open up if you don't click the link, you would only see it transferred to your hard disk. Once it's on your hard disk, you can view it from there.

    What if I have a problem downloading my items?

    First, follow the prompts to get back to your Order Confirmation and Download page and try again. If you cannot continue, return to the Order Confirmation and Download page, click on contact us and send us the email message referencing the order number, that appears in the email confirmation of your order. We will follow up with you and help you get the items you ordered.

    What if I have to stop downloading my items and need to come back to do it later?

    Once you leave the Confirmation & Download page, you can't go back to it later. Instead, you need to contact us and reference the order number. After we verified the record of your order, you will receive an e-mail from us with the PDF file(s) attached.

    What if I receive an error message saying the "the file is not found"?

    This message indicates the files are not available. Please contact us immediately so that we can correct this problem.

    How can I find out if my hard copy order has been processed or shipped?

    Soon after completing the transaction, you will receive an email message confirming your order. The message will list the items that you purchased, the total amount of your order and the order number. Your order will be shipped 2 to 3 days after the date of your order. If you have any questions or want more details, please contact us.

    How can I view my Shopping Cart during the ordering process?

    On the right column, you will find the navigation links for the Diversity Store. Click on the Shopping Cart link, and you will find your cart. You will also find Shopping Cart links at the bottom and top of many of the pages in the Store.

    What if I ordered an item, but it does not appear in my Shopping Cart?

    You must click on the little round button in front of the word "Purchase," below the description of the item, then click on "Add to Cart." You must click on both of these buttons to add an item to your cart.

    What methods of payment do you accept?

    We accept American Express, MasterCard, and Visa.

    How do I use the Shopping Cart?

    The Shopping Cart is a convenient way to keep track of the items that you want to purchase, just like in the grocery store. Once you have found an item that you want to buy, simply click the bullet in front of "Purchase article packet for $XX.", then click "Add to Cart." That's it! The item is in your cart and will remain there. When you Proceed to Check Out, you can remove items from your cart, or go back to the Store and add more items.

    What if I have problem with the Shopping Cart?

    In order for the Shopping Cart to work properly, you must have cookies enabled; cookies is the mechanism that allow you to keep track of your shopping cart. To change the setting for cookies, you need to open your browser. If you are using Firefox, to go File - Preferences - Privacy Or, Internet Explorer go to Tools - Internet Options - Security - Custom. Click on Accept all cookies, or Accept.

    What is a cookie?

    Cookies are simply a text file that the browser creates on your machine. Any web site can write into this file. To enable cookies, you need to open up the browser as instructed above.

    • For Firefox: you go into File - Preferences and click on Privacy and Security tab then Cookies, then select Accept third party cookies
    • t Accept only cookies that get sent back to the originating server.
    • For Internet Explorer: click Internet Options on the Tools menu and click the Security tab, and then click Custom Level. Click Enable or Prompt under Allow cookies that are stored on your computer.

    How do I add more than one item in the Shopping Cart?

    After you have placed the first item in the cart, you will be sent to a page that says, "Your selection has been added to your cart." From there, you can use the links on the right-hand side of the page, or at the bottom of the page to navigate around. You can return to the Diversity Store Home page, or back to one of the product pages where you find lists of all the items in a category, such as Article Packets, Back Issues or Resource Lists. You can also enter the CDW Archive and search the more than 1000 diversity articles, resources and tools, purchasing them one at a time. You can continue to search and browse around the entire Diversity Store; each time you find something you want to purchase, simply click on the Purchase button, and Click on Add to Cart button.

    How do I remove an item from the Shopping Cart?

    To remove an item, you must click on the line, "Proceed to Check-Out." Once there, you can click on the bullet, "Remove from order." Once clicked, the cart will remove that item and recalculate the amount of your order.
