    After Bob, marketing vice-president, agreed to mentor Marion, they had lunch together frequently, spent late hours at the office, and traveled together on business. Marion found Bob's advice invaluable. When Marion was promoted, rumors spread accusing her of focusing the "mentoring" relationship on more than "work" and ruining Bob's reputation. Bob suggested they stop their interactions. As the weeks passed, Marion found little cooperation and support from her peers. She didn't know what to do.
